"Our vision for the business has always been to become the absolute market leader. What Susan did was amplify that opportunity by providing the platform that allows us to truly chase that goal."Brett Mansfield, CEO, MrMentor

01

The situation

Brett Mansfield bought MrMentor to build the market-leading training and mentoring business for mortgage brokers. The model was right. The infrastructure wasn't. The course ran on an ageing WordPress LMS. Every enquiry needed a staff member to explain the program on the phone. Every enrolment ran the same manual sequence: callback, DocuSign, separate payment, then access and onboarding by hand.

The number of students MrMentor could serve was set by how many conversations and enrolments the team could personally process.

02

What we did

Three things had to change at once, because fixing any one alone would have pushed the constraint somewhere else. We rebuilt the course off the outdated platform. We moved the program explanation off the phone and into a sales page that does the explaining. And we replaced the manual enrolment chain with one integrated platform and automation across the gaps, as a clean handover rather than a disruptive cutover.

The results

  • A course that matches the quality of the mentoring behind it.
  • Program explanation moved from a phone call on every enquiry to a sales page.
  • Manual enrolment replaced by one integrated platform: admin no longer the ceiling on student numbers.
  • The business kept operating throughout.
  • MrMentor moved from B2C into B2B, partnering with mortgage broking businesses.
